Home for the holidays.

We’d like our loved ones to join us – even those who may reside in a facility. But can the elderly come home for the holidays?

Medicare Rules

If your loved one is receiving Medicare, they may be able to leave the facility without endangering their future benefits for special religious services, holiday meals, family occasions, car rides or a trial visit home.

Medicaid Rules

If your loved one is receiving Medicaid, the state’s Medicaid rules govern.

Facility Rules

In addition, every rehabilitation hospital, assisted living facility and skilled nursing home has its own rules. Ask in advance.
