Travis County Law Library Self-Help Center. www.traviscountylawlibrary.org 512- 854-8677. Ned Granger Building, 314 West 11th Street, Austin. Law library with legal resources, information and free self-help forms for common legal matters. Staff attorneys provide assistance (not representation) by appointment on eligible matters with uncontested family cases in Travis County courts. (Uncontested means both parties are in agreement: library attorneys do not assist either party individually.) All library services are free.

First Call for Help -211. Call 2-1-1 for free information and referrals to health and human service agencies, nonprofit organizations and other services.

Texas Legal Services Center. www.tlsc.org 512-477-6000. Administers a variety of legal service programs for eligible individuals. Lawyer-staff legal line primarily for Texans who have a disability or are over 60 years of age. Most services are available at no cost to eligible applicants.

Travis County Attorney’s Office: Protective Orders. A Protective Order is an order signed by a judge to protect individuals, families and people in a dating relationship from abuse and violence. The Order requires an abuser to follow certain rules or face serious legal consequences. The application must be made promptly and in person with a valid government- issued ID and the address of the person to be protected from at the Ned Granger Building, 314 West 11th Street, Suite 300, Austin. Monday – Friday 8:00-5:00. Spanish interpreters available.

Family Crisis Centers. Help with protective orders, safety planning, temporary shelter, counseling and social services for victims of violence and/or sexual assault. Nationwide referrals available 24/7:
